Marie Casey is CEO of seAp Advocacy that provides statutory and non-statutory advocacy across the south of England. seAp was one of the original delivery partners for the Independent Complaints Advocacy Service (ICAS) in 2003 and is still delivering Independent Health Complaints Advocacy to this day.
Marie has a long history in the voluntary and public sectors challenging inequalities and empowering people and communities to reach their full potential. Previous roles include CEO of ‘Care for the Carers’ in East Sussex; Chair of the Hastings & St Leonards Primary Care Trust; and Director of Hastings Voluntary Action (HVA).
Having been at the forefront of the advocacy movement since 1994, Marie has developed three key advocacy services from which seAp was first established. A Fellow of the RSA (FRSA), Marie has chaired a number of partnership Boards and is very active in advocating for improved Health and Social Care services nationally, regionally and locally by giving a people a voice and sharing the experiences of our service users.
